CMA247 Album Leaf CMA246 Berceuse CMA248 Little Bird CMA249 Old Folk Song CMA252 Scherzo CMA253 To The Spring 6 pieces by Grieg arranged for Flute Choir by Keith Amos Pub. 1998 (6 C Flutes) During his lifetime, Edvard Grieg wrote over 100 pieces for piano. Every one has a title and is beautifully turned miniature, reflecting many moods and atmospheres. He grouped several together, entitled Lyric Pieces. Keith Amos, who played many of these well known pieces in his student days, decided to arrange 6 of them for Flute Choir. Album Leaf, Little Bird and Scherzo are perfectly suited for the Flute medium; sparkling, glittering, delightful.
The other three reveal Grieg's superb gift for melody.

"Big Train" Mulligan 6 C Flutes and opt Piccolo, Alto, Bass Pub. July 2000 CMA278 Another great piece in a jazz style. For those who have enjoyed Animal Crackers, this is a must. It can be played equally well with just 6 C flutes. "Big Train" Mulligan appears in every army, but this particular soldier was a GI in WWII. A perfectly turned-out Private who never sought promotion, he used the nooks and crannies of the Army to his own advantage. A survivor. A sharp operator. A packet of cigarettes for the Major: a half-bottle of malt for the Colonel: a pair of nylons for the Sergeant's latest girlfriend. "Big Train" was all things to all superiors. Where would they have been without him . . ? Bone Yard Blues - The American Army set up huge dumps of damaged vehicles, tanks and artillery pieces wherever they were fighting. They called them Bone Yards. The unsung heroes of these incredible places were the mechanics. Salvaging where they could, or sending the wrecks back to the US for recycling, they kept the Army on the move. Short Snorter was a game played by the GI's which, although simple, became incredibly complicated. It involved signing dollar bills and passing them around for more signatures. And that's all I understand! The nature of the music - Bop - sums it up very neatly.

Hampton Court Palace: II Piccolo, 6 C Flutes, Alto, Bass CMA269 Pub. Jan 2000 The King's Guard Chamber houses 3000 pieces of armour and weapons, hung upon the walls. The pieces were arranged by John Harris, Master Gunner of Windsor Castle, who died in 1734. Henry VIII erected The Royal Tennis Court in 1529. He was devoted to the game (Real Tennis) and to see him playing was to be `the prettiest thing in the world'. The famous Maze was planted in Queen Anne's time and is the only surviving feature of the early Wilderness. The Great Kitchen housed a culinary empire, with large open hearths and separate rooms for every imaginable food. The Kitchen leads directly to The Great Hall, where the King dined in splendour upon a dais.
